Meet the Chiller Box team – Chloe Boateng

    PUBLISHED: 19/04/2022

Chiller Box wouldn’t be the success it is without having such a dedicated and supportive team behind us. Over the next few months, we’re going to be telling you more about the people working on the projects you will have seen on our social media channels. We’re starting with our estimator and project co-ordinator, Chloe who has such a pivotal role in the early stages of any of our projects and supports us through to completion.

How do you support the business?

As the estimator and project co-ordinator, I cost the project initially and then work with the client, suppliers and in-house project managers to coordinate the delivery of equipment and installation. I love being able to see a project develop from start to finish and am often that first point of contact with a new client so it’s great to be able to hear their ideas and vision.

How long have you worked for Chiller Box?

It’s seven years since I first started working for Chiller Box, but I took two years out in 2019 and 2020. It’s great to be back though and I’ve loved working on the projects we have done over the last year.

What makes Chiller Box special to work for?

We genuinely work like a family. All families disagree from time to time but there is love there at the end of the day and we all listen to each other’s views and ideas. Michael and Marios have always treated me like an important member of the Chiller Box family which makes it a really nice place to be and an inspiring atmosphere to work in.

What attracted you to work in the hospitality industry?

I fell into the industry by accident, but it didn’t take me long to really admire the hard-work and passion within hospitality. It’s such a special industry as everyone is so focused on ensuring people have enjoyable experiences when eating and drinking out or staying away from home. Knowing you have played a part in the result of a hospitality design project is really special.

What has been your favourite Chiller Box project to work on and why?

I am loving working on the Neat Burger chain. Not only is it such an exciting and innovative concept, but the client is so easy to work with. Like many other businesses right now, we’ve had to deal with some supply chain issues but as a team we have worked hard to overcome these challenges and ensure that our projects are still delivered on time. When you see such fantastic end results, and the clients keep coming back to you for advice, it’s really satisfying.

Tell us about a proud moment in your time with Chiller Box and why.

Progressing into my current role at Chiller Box has given me so much pride. This has shown me that the management believe in me and know that I could be trusted to deliver for them. It has also shown me that all the hard work I put in has not been in vain and I will keep striving to deliver and progress.

What do you like to do to switch off from work?

I love listening to music and can’t helping singing along, sometimes very loudly. Going out with friends is a great way for me to switch off and I also love watching crime documentaries or another documentary series.

If you could have done anything else with your career, what would it have been?

As a child I absolutely loved the performing arts so I would have to say a dancer or actress.

What are the most important skills or attributes you need to do your job?

To do my job well I need to show attention to detail and be focused. Good communication skills, charisma and being able to network are extremely important for anyone working in the hospitality industry.

Tell us what you think makes a strong kitchen design.

It’s about getting the right balance of ensuring the space meets all the functional needs of our clients as well as it looking aesthetically pleasing. A good design will consider ease of access and having the right kitchen equipment to do the job as efficiently as possible.

And finally, we’ve got five quick fire questions…
