Meat grinders are useful to mince meat ready for making you own meat products - such as sausages, pies, pates and burgers. By grinding your own meat you can ensure it is lean and remove as much fat and gristle as you desire prior to processing.
Chilled meat and fish will retain their juices better when grinding. A fine grinding disc is used to make pate, hamburgers and smooth textured products. A coarse disc is ideal for beef for lasagne, chilli con carne and homemade pies.
Chilling sausages or burgers for an hour once moulded will help them keep their shape whilst cooking.
